Cedarville

If you’re coming to Black Rock City from the northwest, you’re going to come through Surprise Valley aka Cedarville. This cozy little town of approximately 600 people sits below the Warner Mountains of the Modoc National Forest to the west, and just above high desert playas to the east. A nice prelude to the journey to Burning Man.

The very hospitable people and businesses here have been very supportive of us on our journey, and they work hard to meet our needs and wishes. It’s your last chance to get many of the supplies you may need, with BRC another 95 miles to the south.

Parking can be found along the streets in abundance, but please park diagonally so as to make entry and departure easier for everyone. Remember to be respectful and courteous of the town’s residents and their properties. Drive the speed limit. And Leave No Trace by going here for the only authorized trash, recycling and greywater disposal locations in the region.

Dial into KDUP at 88.1 FM for some eclectic music and local news.
